1. Your category in Pakistan
Pick your category and this section shows what we actually hold for Pakistan: how many potential buyers we have verified, what roles they play in the supply chain, and how well they fit. Switch back to All industries at any time.
“Potential buyers” means the buyers we have verified and listed in our own directory — not every importer in the country. Buyer roles are our own grouping of the roles recorded in that directory. (4 of these records do not yet carry a recorded buyer role.)
2. Entry gate
The first gate an exporter has to clear. Pakistan layers a standards requirement on top of a pre-shipment inspection: conformity is demonstrated before the goods leave your side, not after they arrive.
| Requirement | Status | What it involves | Lead time | Cost | Last verified |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| PSQCA conformity | Mandatory (listed goods) | Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority requirements apply to listed product categories; a conformity certificate is needed before customs release | Pending | Pending | Pending |
| Pre-shipment inspection | Mandatory (regulated imports) | Inspection carried out at origin by a nominated third-party agency before shipment; the clean report of findings is required for clearance | Pending | Pending | Pending |
| Import licence / permit | Selected goods | Certain controlled categories require prior approval from the Ministry of Commerce | Pending | Category-dependent | Pending |
| Tariff (MFN) | Always applies | Average applied tariff is around 11.0% (2022, simple mean, all products). Rates vary substantially by line and additional regulatory duties apply to some categories — confirm at HS-code level | — | On customs value | Pending |
| Tariff (China–Pakistan FTA) | To claim the preference | Preferential rates are available under the China–Pakistan Free Trade Agreement with a valid certificate of origin | 3–5 days | Pending | Pending |
| Sales tax | Always applies | 18% standard rate, charged on CIF plus duty at the point of import; normally recoverable by a registered importer | — | 18% | 2026-10 |
| Labelling | Category-dependent | Labelling and marking requirements vary by category; confirm the current position for your product before shipment | Pending | — | Pending |
Certification, tariff and clearance figures change. Every row above carries a verification date, and the current requirement is confirmed with your nominated local agent before each shipment.
3. Buyers and channel partners
Leading buyers and channel partners
Every company below is a real business in Pakistan taken from our own buyer research, and we have verified that its website is reachable. Names and business types are public; decision-makers, direct emails and phone numbers are reserved for members of the Buyer Directory.
How to use this list: do not mass-mail. Pakistani industrial buying is relationship-led and often family-firm based. A referral or a trade-fair introduction converts far better than a cold email.
4. Demand and import profile
Select your HS code and this block shows the import performance of your own category in Pakistan — not the country's macro numbers.
Import size & growth
Example: industrial power equipment is a large import line, driven by load shedding and by the textile and food-processing sectors.

Source-country mix
Example: China is the dominant source, ahead of the UAE, Germany and Japan.

Frequently asked questions
Can you support pre-shipment inspection for Pakistan?
Yes. We coordinate with the inspection agency nominated for your shipment and prepare the documentation pack in advance, so the inspection is booked into the production schedule rather than discovered after the container is sealed.
Is there a preferential tariff under the China–Pakistan FTA?
Preferential rates are available under the China–Pakistan Free Trade Agreement for goods that meet the rules of origin, with a valid certificate of origin. The applicable rate depends on your HS line, so confirm it before quoting.
How much sales tax is charged on imports?
The standard rate is 18%, charged on the CIF value plus duty. It is normally recoverable by a registered importer.
Will equipment cope with load shedding and voltage swings?
Yes, that is the design case. Inverters and controllers are specified with wide input tolerance and protection, and portable stations switch to battery on loss of supply. Tell us your measured voltage range and we will confirm the right model.
What payment terms are normal?
Letters of credit are standard for most imports and are what we plan around for first orders. T/T becomes workable once a trading relationship is established.
