1. Your category in Nigeria
Pick your category and this section shows what we actually hold for Nigeria: how many potential buyers we have verified, what roles they play in the supply chain, and how well they fit. Switch back to All industries at any time.
“Potential buyers” means the buyers we have verified and listed in our own directory — not every importer in the country. Buyer roles are our own grouping of the roles recorded in that directory. (22 of these records do not yet carry a recorded buyer role.)
2. Entry gate
The first gate an exporter has to clear, and the one that catches most first-time sellers: Nigeria's conformity regime is two-stage. A Product Certificate must be obtained before shipment, and a Shipment Certificate per consignment after it. Both are filed through the importer and a nominated local agent, so finding that partner comes first.
| Requirement | Status | What it involves | Lead time | Cost | Last verified |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SONCAP product certificate | Mandatory (regulated goods) | Product Certificate (PC) issued under the Standards Organisation of Nigeria conformity programme; requires product testing by an accredited laboratory | Pending | Pending | Pending |
| SONCAP shipment certificate | Mandatory (per consignment) | Shipment Certificate (SC) issued per consignment against the PC and a Request for Certificate; must be in place before customs clearance | Pending | Pending | Pending |
| Form M | Mandatory | Import declaration opened through the importer's bank before shipment; the reference number feeds the later PAAR application | Pending | Bank charges | Pending |
| PAAR | Mandatory | Pre-Arrival Assessment Report, used by customs to assess duty before the goods arrive | Pending | — | Pending |
| Tariff (ECOWAS CET) | Always applies | Average applied tariff is around 11.9% (2022, simple mean, all products). Machinery and electrical goods vary widely by line — the rate must be confirmed at HS-code level | — | On customs value | Pending |
| VAT | Always applies | 7.5% standard rate, charged on CIF plus duty at the point of import | — | 7.5% | 2026-10 |
| Labelling | Category-dependent | Regulated categories carry their own labelling and registration rules (food, drugs, cosmetics and some electricals); confirm the current position for your product | Pending | — | Pending |
Certification, tariff and clearance figures change. Every row above carries a verification date, and the current requirement is confirmed with your nominated local agent before each shipment.
3. Buyers and channel partners
Leading buyers and channel partners
Every company below is a real business in Nigeria taken from our own buyer research, and we have verified that its website is reachable. Names and business types are public; decision-makers, direct emails and phone numbers are reserved for members of the Buyer Directory.
How to use this list: do not mass-mail. Nigerian trade runs on personal contact and WhatsApp. An introduction through a clearing agent, a trade fair or an industry association converts far better than a cold email.
4. Demand and import profile
Select your HS code and this block shows the import performance of your own category in Nigeria — not the country's macro numbers.
Import size & growth
Example: Nigeria imports a large and growing volume of power-conversion equipment, driven by the substitution of diesel generation.

Source-country mix
Example: China is the largest source, ahead of India, the UAE and Turkey.

Price band
Example: the mid band is where Chinese supply competes hardest; the low band is held by regional assemblers.

Frequently asked questions
Do you handle SONCAP documentation for Nigerian imports?
We supply the documentation pack for the product certificate and shipment certificate stages and work with your nominated local agent. Because requirements are revised, we confirm the current procedure with the agent before each shipment rather than assuming last year's process still applies.
Will equipment cope with Nigerian voltage swings and outages?
Yes, that is the design case. Inverters and controllers are specified with wide input tolerance and protection, portable stations switch to battery on loss of supply, and the power-loss regulator is intended for sites where the supply exists but is unstable. Tell us your measured voltage range and we will confirm the right model.
Can I mix products in one container to Lagos?
Yes, mixed containers are common and we consolidate at our suppliers before loading. Send the list of models and quantities and we will come back with a packing plan, estimated CBM and the Incoterms options.
What is the minimum order quantity?
MOQ depends on the product line and whether you need OEM branding. Tell us the models and whether you want your own label, and we will return a specific MOQ and price break with the quotation.
Do you provide warranty and after-sales support in Nigeria?
We provide warranty terms per product line and ship spare parts with or after the main order. For installations we can also specify a spares package sized to your fleet so you are not waiting on a replacement from China.
