1. Your category in Taiwan, China
Pick your category and this section shows what we actually hold for Taiwan, China: how many potential buyers we have verified, what roles they play in the supply chain, and how well they fit. Switch back to All industries at any time.
“Potential buyers” means the buyers we have verified and listed in our own directory — not every importer in the country. Buyer roles are our own grouping of the roles recorded in that directory. (8 of these records do not yet carry a recorded buyer role.)
2. Entry gate
Taiwan, China applies its own technical regulations rather than following either the mainland or the EU rulebook, so an existing CE or CCC file is not transferable. The two gates that stop shipments are BSMI commodity inspection for electrical and electronic goods and NCC type approval for anything that transmits. Both are applied at the border, and neither can be completed after the goods have arrived.
| Requirement | Status | What it involves | Lead time | Cost | Last verified |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| BSMI commodity inspection | Mandatory (listed goods) | Electrical and electronic products on the commodity inspection list must pass BSMI (Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection) inspection and carry the relevant mark, on the basis of a type-test report and registration. Confirm the applicable standard and whether your model can be registered under an existing approval. | Pending | Pending | Pending |
| NCC type approval | Mandatory (radio / telecom) | Any product containing a radio transmitter — including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and cellular modules — needs NCC type approval and the NCC label. This catches many products that are sold as ordinary electrical goods elsewhere. | Pending | Pending | Pending |
| Importer of record | Always applies | The declaration must be made by a registered local entity holding the relevant business registration. Most exporters use a local importer or distributor; a foreign seller does not declare goods itself. | Pending | Pending | Pending |
| Tariff (MFN) | Always applies | The weighted-mean applied tariff is not published for this market; the rate must be confirmed line by line at HS-code level. | — | On customs value | Pending |
| Tariff (preference) | Not available | There is no free trade agreement that gives Chinese-origin goods preferential access, so the applied most-favoured-nation rate applies. Applied rates on industrial and electrical goods are generally low, but the rate depends on the HS line and must be confirmed line by line. | — | — | Pending |
| VAT | Always applies | 5% business tax, charged at import on the customs value plus duty. It is the lowest import-stage consumption tax in the region, and a registered importer normally offsets it against output tax. | — | 5% | Pending |
| Labelling | Mandatory | Labels are normally required in Chinese, with product name, manufacturer or importer details, country of origin and safety information; the BSMI or NCC mark must be affixed where it applies. | Pending | — | Pending |
Certification, tariff and clearance figures change. Every row above carries a verification date, and the current requirement is confirmed with your nominated local agent before each shipment.
3. Buyers and channel partners
Leading buyers and channel partners
How to use this list: do not mass-mail. Buyers here are technically strong — send the type-test report and the BSMI or NCC approval status with your first email. A distributor that already holds an approval you can build on is worth more than a larger buyer that would need a new registration from scratch.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need BSMI approval?
If your product is on the commodity inspection list, yes — it must pass BSMI inspection and carry the mark, normally on the basis of a type-test report and a registration. Confirm the applicable standard for your exact model before shipping.
My product has Wi-Fi. Does that change anything?
Yes. Anything containing a radio transmitter needs NCC type approval in addition to any electrical approval. This catches many products that are sold as ordinary electrical goods elsewhere.
Can I be the importer of record myself?
No. The declaration must be made by a registered local entity. Most exporters use a local importer or distributor as importer of record.
What is the import duty on my product?
Applied most-favoured-nation rates on industrial and electrical goods are generally low, and there is no preferential arrangement for Chinese-origin goods. The rate depends on the HS line, so confirm it line by line.
How much is the import-stage tax?
5% business tax on the customs value plus duty — the lowest import-stage consumption tax in the region. A registered importer normally offsets it against output tax.
Which port should I ship to?
Kaohsiung for volume, Keelung if the consignee is in the north, Taichung for central buyers. Sailings from mainland ports are frequent and short, so routing is usually decided by the consignee's location rather than by schedule.
