High RAP content is not just 'changing a number'; it needs systematic stockpile management and mix-design control. Here is a practical route.

Urban road network in a modern city supported by sustainable asphalt maintenance

Start with a RAP library

Classify and test sources by aging degree, asphalt content and aggregate gradation, and store separately - the foundation of stable high incorporation.

Stiffness and blending charts

Blend the aged binder with virgin asphalt based on aging indices, draw the blending curve, and determine the maximum RAP ratio that meets target performance.

Workability at medium temperature

A warm-mix rejuvenator maintains workability in the medium-temperature range, so high-RAP mixes still mix, haul and compact smoothly.

Acceptance and QA

Close the loop with extraction, recovery and performance tests, building full-process quality control from intake to pavement.
